The Williamson County Government Juvenile Services Department is accepting applications for a full-time Male Juvenile Detention Intake Officer for detainees. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for juvenile offenders while promoting their rehabilitation and personal growth. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in case management, social work, and conflict management.

Responsibilities:

- Supervise and monitor the activities of juvenile offenders in a correctional facility

- Conduct regular security checks to ensure the safety of staff and residents

- Implement behavior management programs to promote positive change

- Provide counseling and support to residents, addressing their emotional and behavioral needs

- Collaborate with other staff members to develop individualized treatment plans

- Maintain accurate records of resident behavior, progress, and incidents

- Enforce facility rules and regulations to maintain order and discipline

- Respond to emergencies and security threats in a calm and effective manner

- Conduct searches of residents, their living areas, and common areas as necessary

Qualifications:

- High school diploma or GED equivalent required; Bachelor's degree in social work or related field preferred

- Valid certificate in corrections or law enforcement is a plus

- Proven experience in case management or social work with at-risk youth

- Strong understanding of conflict management techniques

- Familiarity with motivational interviewing strategies

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

- Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle difficult situations with professionalism

- Physical stamina to perform job duties, including standing, walking, and restraining individuals if necessary
