Williamson College of the Trades is Hiring an Instructor of Construction Management Near Media, PA

DESCRIPTION
The instructor, who reports to the Construction Management director, is responsible for helping to develop and continuing to enhance a program that prepares young men to enter a construction trade, in addition to preparing them to possibly enter the construction management industry. The instructor must be a self-starter with excellent interpersonal and communication skills who possesses a strong knowledge of the course content and can convey that knowledge to students. Instructional duties include but are not limited to the following: creating and delivering classroom lectures, developing and updating course curriculum, schedules, outlines and syllabi, creating and conducting timely assessments of student learning, using the College’s Learning Management System (Canvas LMS), pursuing educational and professional development opportunities, serving on selected committees, attending scheduled meetings, and participating in other college activities. In addition, the College believes in leading by example; therefore, the instructor must internalize the moral and ethical standards of Williamson and teach, mentor and guide student behavior and actions in accordance with the student Code of Conduct and Williamson’s core values.

ESSENTIAL
Bachelor’s degree (Master’s highly preferred) in Construction Management or related

QUALIFICATIONS
field/discipline, with at least 5-10 years of field experience as a project manager and or/construction manager in commercial and residential construction. Experience in modern construction management is essential in addition to the ability to teach more than one of the following areas:

  • Project Estimating
    • Contract Documents
      • Project Scheduling
      • Project Administration

PREFERRED
10 years of field experience as a project manager and/or construction manager

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience in Institutional Construction in addition to Commercial and Residential Construction.
  • Experience in teaching at a trade school level
  • OSHA certified trainer
  • Familiarity with MEP design and installation
  • Building Information Modeling (BIM) experience

COMPENSATION
Based on educational qualifications and applicable industry and teaching experience, the annual salary for the non-tenured, ten-month appointment is in the competitive range and includes an excellent benefits package.
