Williams is hiring a Field Mechanic! The Field Mechanic diagnoses, adjusts, repairs, and overhauls mobile mechanical, hydraulic, and heavy iron equipment, such as bulldozers, graders, and excavators, used in construction.

Iron Rentals, our fleet and equipment rental company, is responsible for keeping a fleet of over 150 vehicles (and growing!), equipment, and trailers running and in tip top shape. 

What You'll Do:

• Equipment Diagnosis and Troubleshooting: Conduct thorough inspections of heavy equipment to identify mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.
• Routine Maintenance and Repairs: Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on civil construction equipment to include: bulldozers, graders, and excavators to ensure optimal functionality. Execute repairs on engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, and other components as needed.
• Field Service and Emergency Response: Respond promptly to field service requests and breakdowns, traveling to job sites to address equipment issues.
• Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of all repairs, services, and maintenance activities performed on each piece of equipment.

What You Bring: 

• Five years experience as a field mechanic, with a focus on heavy iron equipment.
• Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and electrical components.
• Proficient in using diagnostic tools and interpreting technical manuals.
• High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical certifications are a plus. Graduation from an accredited technical school in diesel engine or earthmoving repair or equivalent verifiable field experience. (preferred)
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• Ability to obtain Class-A CDL within 6 months of employment.
• May be subject to drug testing and medical exams.
