Williams Consulting, LLC (WCLLC) is in search of a Technical Writer/Quality Assurance Specialist to join our growing team onsite at our Catonsville, Maryland office on the campus of the University of Maryland Baltimore County. The core business hours are Monday-Friday 8:30am-5:00pm.

Description

Williams Consulting, LLC is seeking a detailed oriented Technical Writer/Quality Assurance Specialist with enterprise-wide experience driving process and business quality assurance and integrity efforts across multiple programs for the Federal government. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and enhancing documentation to support a project within the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). Your ability to transform complex information into accessible and visually appealing content is essential.

 Duties and Responsibilities

  • Create and review documentation to ensure accuracy, clarity and adherence to standards and guidelines.
  • Analyze, author, or edit business and technical documents.
  • Conduct quality assurance checks on documents, identifying errors or inconsistencies and providing feedback to improve the overall quality of the content.
  • Develop comprehensive, standardized, and efficient quality management processes through the development of standard operating procedures (SOPs) and policies as well as tools and checklists to aid assuring quality.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and subject matter experts to gather information for documentation development.
  • Create and maintain user-friendly documentation including user guides, training manuals, quick reference guides and frequently asked questions (FAQs).
  • Develop visually engaging graphics to enhance documentation, training and user guides.
  • Ensure documentation is 508 compliant.
  • Edit and proofread all project deliverables and communications for accuracy, consistency and clarity.
  • Develop, and improve new and existing quality control checks to enhance program integrity and coordination across multiple programs to support rapid decision-making and execution.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience

  • A./B.S. degree in Technical Writing, Communications, Graphic Design or a related field
  • A minimum of 8 years’ proven experience in technical writing, quality assurance review and graphics development, particularly in the healthcare field.
  • Experience in federal contracting is a plus.
  • Strong graphic design skills with proficiency in graphics software.
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills with an eye for detail.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Customer-focused with a commitment to providing high-quality service.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organization, and efficient time management.
  • Knowledge of healthcare industry standards, regulations, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Visio, Project) and Adobe.
  • Must demonstrate professionalism and a positive work ethic in all situations.
  • Ability to respond effectively to changing events and competing priorities.
  • Background investigation required.
  • Ability to pass Federal Public Trust clearance.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or listen. Standing, sitting, squatting, and other normal office-related physical activities are required. Must be able to sit and read computer screens for extended periods.
