William Hermann is Hiring a PCA/Caregiver Near Suffield, CT

We are looking to hire for days and/or evenings on weekdays and/or weekends.

We are looking for a competent personal care assistant to support a college educated 31 year old with muscular dystrophy with all activities of daily life. The fulfillment and satisfaction that comes with helping others surpasses the challenges of this job. If you’re a compassionate, positive person with a sense of humor who isn’t afraid to work hard, then this is a job for you. We expect you to be polite and a good communicator. Experience in caring for a disabled client or family member will make you a strong candidate. Work takes place in the client’s home, which is a clean and safe environment. Training will be provided.

All employees must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and the flu and must wear a mask, which will be provided.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with respiratory equipment (BiPap, Cough Assist, suction)
  • Help with transfers using a ceiling lift
  • Ensure client receives their medication
  • Support client who can’t move on their own
  • Help client dress, bathe, eat etc.
  • Cook meals according to the customer’s restrictions
  • Do necessary light housekeeping to maintain a clean environment
  • Act quickly and responsibly in cases of emergency
