Willdan Engineering has an opening for a full-time Construction Inspector to support projects in the Sacramento, CA area. The qualified individual will be responsible for high quality inspections of various projects in conformance with plans and specifications during the life of the project. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Attend Pre-Construction meetings.
  • Review and monitor work as constructed.
  • Track progress and quality of construction.
  • Track quantities of constructed items, where/when required. 
  • Verified materials are in accordance with contract documents and approved submittals.
  • Provide comprehensive daily field reports,
  • Assist Supervising Inspector and clients with resolution of field issues.
  • Coordinate with contractor, to ensure timely inspections are performed.
  • Provide periodic status reports to the Lead Inspector on construction progress. 
  • Qualified candidates will work on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Perform miscellaneous inspection duties as assigned by Supervising Inspector.

Job Requirements / Qualifications

  • 3-5 years' minimum related Inspection experience.
  • High School Diploma or GED. 
  • Ability to provide periodic inspection to multiple projects daily.
  • Ability to read and understand construction plans and standard specifications.
  • Ability to perform field checks of line, grade, size and location of multiple underground facilities and surface improvements.
  • Thorough knowledge of Construction Specifications and Standard Details, Traffic Control/Flagging and Construction Workplace Safety Principles.
  • Coordinate with other Agency and Utility Inspectors.
  • Oversee and be knowledgeable of field-testing methods. 
  • QSP/CESSWI/CISEC Certification is a plus.
  • Ability to lift/and or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/ or move up to 25 pounds. 
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills and familiarity with operating smart devices and computer.
