Knowledge of MAP (Missouri Assessment Program) and ESSA (Every Student Succeeds Act)
Knowledge of evidence-based instructional strategies
Experience analyzing multiple data points in order to inform instruction
Experience in the development, preparation, and presentation of professional learning preferred
General Summary: The Instructional Coach is fundamental in improving student achievement in the district. The role of the coach is to build teacher capacity and deepen their understanding of high-leverage instructional practices. They work in collaboration with classroom teachers in order to provide personalized support based on the goals and needs of the individual teacher. An Instructional coach is a learner who models continuous improvement and goes above and beyond to ensure all students experience equitable learning opportunities. Instructional coaches work collaboratively as a team and support many stakeholders throughout the district to ensure we have the greatest impact on our educational community.
Performance Responsibilities:
Supports teachers in implementing effective instructional strategies in the classroom as determined by multiple data points.
Assists teachers with the planning and pacing of lessons, the development of differentiated learning opportunities and the implementation of best practices in order to meet the individual needs of students.
Builds strong partnerships with the building principal, teachers, support personnel and the instructional coaching team.
Supports district initiatives by ensuring alignment of curriculum, instructional practices, and assessments to ensure consistency across the district.
Supports the needs of multiple grade levels and multiple disciplines.
Ensures high-quality instruction in classrooms by modeling, co-planning, co-teaching, informal observations (non-evaluative) and engaging in coaching cycles with teachers.
Provides professional learning as needed in multiple disciplines for a variety of audiences.
Meets regularly with building administrators in regards to effective instructional practices, curriculum implementation and data analysis.
Supports the educational programs and services of the district by working collaboratively with teachers and providing both formal and informal professional learning opportunities.
Assists with special projects as determined by the Executive Director of Teaching and Learning and building administrator.
Utilizes the Adult Learning Theory to support adult learners and improve professional practice.
Ability to organize and prioritize responsibilities, projects and tasks.
Ability to effectively communicate with multiple stakeholders.
