Willard R-2 School District is Hiring a Director of Special Service Near Willard, MO
- Advanced Degree with an emphasis in Special Education / Administration.
- A minimum of 5 years prior experience in the direct instruction of special education students.
- Certification required: Special Education Administrator.
- A minimum of 5 years prior administrative / supervisory experience preferred.
- Knowledge of inclusive practices
- Ability to lead large and small groups through change efforts
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Supervision / Evaluation of all Special Education Personnel in partnership with principals.
- Oversight of instruction of pre-K-12 Special Education Instructional Services.
- Oversight of Special Education budgetary compliance.
- Collaboration with building principals and regular education staff.
- Serve as a liaison between the District and DESE on items related to special education and Tiered Monitoring Reviews.
- Provides leadership in the planning and implementation of district special education instructional programs.
- Serve as a liaison between the district and private, parochial schools.
- Management of student 504 Accommodation plans.
- Coordination of all personnel associated with assistive services. (speech, OT, PT, etc.)
- Highly proficient in instructional coaching and modeling for teachers.
- Extensive knowledge in special education law / due process of students / best practice.
- State / Federal reporting.
- Arrange for Independent Education Evaluations as needed.
- Coordinate the teams and resources needed for students being considered for private or residential placements.
- Oversee and coordinate ESY
- Other duties as assigned by the Superintendent.
