Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and passionate individual to join our team as a Patient Care Coordinator. This role can be offered as either full-time or part-time, depending on the candidate's availability and preferences. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional customer support and ensuring a seamless experience for our patients from their initial contact with our clinic to their final visit and beyond.

Responsibilities:

  • Greet and check-in patients upon arrival, ensuring a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
  • Collect and update patient information, including medical history and insurance details, with a strong emphasis on accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Schedule appointments for patients and coordinate with healthcare providers to optimize scheduling efficiency.
  • Answer phone calls and respond to inquiries from patients, providing necessary information or directing them to the appropriate department.
  • Assist with medical administrative support tasks, such as filing patient records, maintaining databases, and processing paperwork, while adhering to HIPAA regulations.
  • Verify insurance coverage and obtain authorizations for medical procedures or treatments, ensuring seamless billing processes.
  • Coordinate referrals to specialists or other healthcare facilities as needed, facilitating comprehensive patient care.
  • Embrace flexibility and adaptability in a high-volume outpatient environment, demonstrating resilience and problem-solving skills.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Experience in a front desk or administrative role, preferably in a healthcare setting, is preferred. However, candidates who demonstrate eagerness to learn, adaptability, and a quick ability to pick up on the job will also be considered.
  • Experience with healthcare insurance, billing, and collections is a plus.
  • Proficiency in medical terminology and understanding of healthcare procedures.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a professional demeanor.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy in managing patient records and documentation.
  • Proficiency in using office equipment and computer systems, including electronic health record (EHR) software.
