Position Summary :
Provides direct patient care based on individual need according to hospital policies, procedures and protocols, under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and within the scope of the practice of the Certified Nursing Assistant, after initial orientation and completion of skills checklist.
Minimum Qualifications :
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of Oregon Certified Nursing Assistant I or Certified Nursing Assistant 2 (Acute Care) Program.
- Current Oregon Certified Nursing Assistant II Certification.
- Obtain BLS certification within three months and maintain as current.
- Experience as a nursing assistant preferred.
- Meets recertification and continuing education requirements according to level of certification and maintains certification without lapse.
Essential Job Functional :
- Provides direct personal care under supervision of a Registered Nurse within the scope of practice of the Certified Nursing Assistant I or Certified Nursing Assistant 2.
- Participates as a contributory member of the interdisciplinary team.
- Participates in the responsible management of all departmental / hospital resources.
- Assumes responsibility for meeting annual in-service requirements and ongoing personal development.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities :
- Ability to use good judgment, demonstrate patience, and maintain a professional demeanor at all times.
- Must be able to work in a busy and stressful environment
- Organizational skills and the ability to prioritize
- Interpersonal verbal communication skills
