Willamette Valley Academy is seeking a full-time experienced teacher to join our school for the 2024-2025 school year. The ideal candidate will have a passion for teaching and inspiring gifted students to learn and develop their intellectual and emotional capacities.

This position is for teaching students in grade 3.

Teachers working full-time are typically scheduled from 8:30 to 5:30.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver in-school instruction in reading, writing, social studies, math, science, and social-emotional learning
• Establish and maintain positive relationships with students, parents, and fellow teachers
• Teach various instructional methods
• Prepare and/or administer assessments to evaluate student performance
• Observe and record students’ progress and provide parents with information about their children’s development and behavior
• Attend teacher training sessions and workshops when needed

Skills

• Proven experience as a teacher
• Ability to teach in a creative manner and inspire students with their own passion for learning
• Willingness to adhere to all school’s policies and procedures
• Excellent communication and instructional skills
• Ability to act as a mediator between students and their parents
