Operations Coordinator - Surgical Services - 1.0 FT D 

Assist the peri-operative team leader in managing the flow of the daily operating schedule. Constantly aware of physician, staff, and patient needs as told by those clinicians and communicate that information to the clinical leader Respond to per-operative needs through proper communication skills by telephone, direct contact or intercom.

High school diploma or G.E.D. required. Typing, and computer skills required. Hospital experience and medical terminology are required. Clerical accuracy, public relations aptitude, and communication skills.

Medical terminology background is beneficial; demonstrate knowledge of CERNER Scheduling System. Possess a service orientation; demonstrate leadership skills; possess the ability to understand and react effectively to the unique needs of the surgical patient and perioperative staff. Capable of adapting to changing environments, including emergency situations. Organizational skills are essential due to the changing status of the patient and the environment. Assesses and anticipates the needs of the surgical team on a continuum. Works independently, as well as functioning as a team member. Possesses excellent interpersonal skills. Possesses excellent telephone and communication skills.
