Top Qualifiers:3-5 years worker comp experience PreferredOSHA/TOSHA Compliance and Training PreferredFacility Inspectors/Safety Preferred SUMMARY: Responsible for managing all safety issues that may expose the company to workers compensation claims, safety violations and/or regulatory fines and assessments. This includes but is not limited to identifying, evaluating, controlling and minimizing the company’s exposure to loss or damage to physical assets and property losses. Manages all workers compensation, automobile, fire, and property damage claims, under the direction of the Director. Plans and coordinates functions and activities of the Company-wide safety plan, emergency action plan and emergency response guide. Compiles and analyzes data to develop and recommend policies and administrative regulations regarding the company’s causality insurance programs to include; workers’ compensation, fleet, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), and assures company compliance with OSHA Health and Safety standards. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time. Becomes thoroughly familiar with and recommends action to keep the resort in compliance with OSHA and other federal, state and local, and provincial health and safety laws. Apprises the Corporate Director of Compliance & Risk Management, General Manager and Human Resource Director of all safety related problems.Directs and serves as Chairperson to the Safety Committee. Coordinates duties, training and education of the Safety Committee.Conducts or coordinates all facility safety inspections.Develops and maintains all new employees Safety Orientation and conducts ongoing training for current employees.Assists in accident investigations and ensures that proper reports are completed. Makes corrective action recommendations to the Director.Establishes, maintains, staffs and coordinates the first aid facility.Provides first aid treatment for on-the-job illnesses or injuries when present.Ensures that properly trained employees are available to render first aid on other shifts.Maintains first aid treatment records, reports, and standing orders.Recommends, purchases, distributes, and monitors the use and assures the operability of safety medical supplies and personal protective equipment.Establishes and maintains confidential employee medical, workers’ compensation, and general liability files.Establishes and maintains confidential guest injury & employee incident/injury/illness reports. This includes OSHA 300, 300A and 301logs. Remains apprised of the latest safety procedures and equipment by membership in appropriate organization(s), attendance at pertinent seminars, and reading professional journals.Prepares and maintains safety policies and procedures.Provides information for monthly measurable and matrices for Workers compensation, and Fleet Management programs for the Director. Serves as the Company Fleet Manager. Manages all EHS programs Administers post-accident drug testing, as required. Communicates with and assists the Workers’ Compensation Claims Managers in the investigation and administration of workers’ compensation claims. Manages and directs Auto claims and reports claim management to Director. Serves as the company liaison to physicians and other health care providers, schedules physical examinations, and develops medical reports for work related illnesses or injuries. Coordinates the processing and payment of all indemnity lost time claims under workers’ compensation through the Workers’ Compensation Carrier. Maintains contact with all employees and their managers regarding absences from work with job related or non-job related conditions. Identifies and offers modified, alternate or transitional duty as appropriate, including signed Modified Duty Agreements. Maintains, reports, and analyzes information relative to workers’ compensation costs to minimize costs and frequencies. Performs a review of workers’ compensation and business auto loss reports for the Director. Responsible for obtaining, maintaining and updating the OSHA Safety and Health Policy Manuals. Maintains Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and policies relating to this program. Recommends specific annual safety objectives for the company. Authority and responsibility to stop operations should a safety hazard appear. All other duties as assigned by management. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Required to exercise discretion and independent judgment with respect to matters of significance. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: (Level 7) Fifth Year College or university program certificate; or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. LANGUAGE SKILLS: (Level 6) Ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex documents. Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints. Ability to write speeches and articles using original or innovative techniques or style. Ability to make effective and persuasive speeches and presentations on controversial or complex topics to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: (Level 4) Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. REASONING ABILITY: (Level 5) Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Tennessee Driver’s License or ability to obtain one with 30 days of employment OSHA 10/30 hour certification Ability to obtain OSHA Authorized Instructor certification with 2 years First Responder, EMT and/or nursing licensure strongly preferred QUALIFICATIONS: Strong leadership skills and ability to motivate people. Requires good negotiation and listening skills. Ability to act independently with little supervision. Hands on manager, well organized, detail oriented, creative thinker. Skilled in problem solving and staff training. Efficiently handle multiple duties. Requires the ability to operate various office equipment to include a computer, word processing, spreadsheets, voice mail, copier, fax, and calculator. Requires a good understanding of company policies and procedures. Working knowledge of resort amenities, room designs, and general golf knowledge. Ability to handle stressful situations. Good attendance and punctual. Exhibits professionalism. Exhibits good grooming habits. Wears the proper uniform. Works efficiently. Follows all resort and office policies and standard operating procedures. Conducts themselves in a professional manner with a positive attitude.
