Family Specialist–

Hours Worked: Monday – Friday, occasional evenings and weekends 40 hours per week.

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Pay Rate: $19-19.75 per hour

POSITION SUMMARY AND DEFINITION

The Family Specialist is responsible for implementing family self-sufficiency services utilizing a case management model. The Specialist works in partnership with families, facilitating achievement of family needs, family goals, parent involvement, and community referrals. The Specialist implements the enrollment process for the assigned site.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Education and Experience: Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services, Early Childhood Education or related field preferred. Experience and/or other education may substitute for education. Two
years of experience working with low-income families required. Previous Head Start experience preferred.
Special Qualifications: Bilingual in English/Spanish required. Proof of a physical exam, TB test and background checks must be completed. Valid driver’s license and daily access to and use of an insured reliable vehicle required. Computer and organizational skills required.
