Wild Coffee Human Resources is Hiring a Survey Instrument Operator Near Beverly, MA

Wild Coffee Human Resources is proudly partnering with one of the highest ranking civil engineering and land surveying firms in Massachusetts. On behalf of our client, Wild Coffee HR is searching for a highly motivated Survey Instrument Operator who is detail-oriented and interested in joining our land surveying department. A key characteristic of this job is working outside. Applicants for consideration must be able to work in a team environment as a member of a survey crew assisting in the performance of boundary, ALTA, topographic, and construction surveys utilizing the latest equipment and surveying technology.

The Instrument Operator will perform a variety of tasks associated with land surveying and civil engineering. Applicant must be responsible, highly motivated, and a detail-oriented individual who will work in a safe manner and obey all safety regulations, work independently as a one-person crew as required. Other responsibilities will include daily uploading/downloading of data collectors, charging of instrumentation used, and possess the desire to continually advance your knowledge with upgrades in tech!

Responsibilities:

  • Daily uploading and downloading of data collectors
  • Daily care and charging of instrumentation
  • Continually advance knowledge with upgrades in technology
  • Work in a safe manner and obey all safety regulations
  • Supervise the survey crew in the absence of the crew chief
  • Work independently as a one-person crew as required

Requirements:

  • 2 years of related experience
  • Solid mathematical skills & strong communication skills
  • Must be eager to learn technology and equipment such as Leica (GPS, Robotics, Total Stations, Levels, and Data Collectors} and/or Carlson SurvCE and data collection software
  • Must be able to work typical hours of this role (often involve a 6:30am start and an associated late afternoon finish)
  • Must be physically able to work outdoors and on construction sites under all weather conditions and to travel within the New England region.
  • Ability to think quickly on your feet / proven problem-solving skills.
  • High school diploma or equivalent, and authorization to work in the United States on the first day of employment.
  • OSHA 1O a plus but not required.
