Substitute Teachers Needed

We are an outdoor nature school with 8-10 children in our mixed age class (3-10 years). We have 3 teachers on staff and would like to build a roster of substitute teachers for when someone is sick or has a planned vacation.

Hours: 8-3:15

Days: M-F

Duties include managing behaviors of children, leading a pre scripted circle time, supporting with our 1-2hr hikes, leading and supporting with art projects, reading books, cleaning our supplies, and supporting kids during academic time or planned activities.

You must be ok with long periods of standing, hiking, carrying a backpack with extra water and first aid kit for the hike, and being outside rain or shine.

Location: We move around to different parks each day in Clairemont, La Jolla, PB, Mission Valley, OB, Bay-ho, Tierrasanta, and South Park.

Requirements:

Flexible schedule for being on call

Experience working with children in a group setting

ECE credits preferred, but not required

Pass a background check

CPR/First Aid trained or willing to become trained

Love of nature, being outdoors, flexible personality, and uses positive discipline

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 8 – 35 per week

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
• Monday to Friday
• No weekends
• On call
• Weekdays

Ability to Relocate:

• San Diego, CA: Relocate before starting work (Required)
