Wild Alaskan Company is Hiring a Remote Senior Frontend Engineer - Ecommerce and Conversion Specialist

About the Role 

Wild Alaskan Company is seeking a highly skilled Senior Frontend Engineer with a passion for ecommerce, funnel conversion, and user interface design, to help take the team to the next level. The right candidate is an expert in front end development with a solid understanding of UI/UX best practicers and a keen eye for detail.

In this key role, you will work with stakeholders from the Marketing and Brand teams, with input from our CEO. In addition to day-to-day optimization, you will help build and maintain the front end components that power the next iteration of our proprietary ecommerce platform.

Responsibilities: 

  1. Long-term frontend strategy: Develop and implement a plan to move from the current disparate frontend stack to a more maintainable, scalable stack.

  2. Maintain a living component library: Create and maintain a component library using cutting-edge frontend technologies to enable developers to quickly iterate on features.

  3. Funnel Optimization: Contribute to the optimization of our sales funnels, from awareness to conversion, by analyzing user behavior, A/B testing, and implementing data-driven improvements.

  4. User Interface Design: Work with the Product Designer to create visually appealing and intuitive user interfaces, ensuring seamless navigation and a cohesive brand experience across all digital touch points.

  5. Team Leadership: Act as a mentor and thought leader to a team of fullstack/frontend engineers, providing guidance on best practices, coding standards, and fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.

  6. Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product management, UX/UI design, and backend development, to deliver integrated and cohesive solutions that meet business goals.

  7. Testing: Champion frontend testing methodologies to provide test coverage to key business features

  8. Performance: Utilize tools to monitor page speed performance on key ecommerce pages. Identify areas for improvement and implementing solutions to enhance overall site speed and responsiveness.

  9. Technology Evaluation: Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in ecommerce and frontend development. Evaluate and recommend new tools, frameworks, and technologies to enhance the capabilities of the team and platform.

Qualifications 

  1. Experience: Minimum of 7 years experience in frontend development, with a focus on ecommerce platforms and conversion optimization.

  2. Technical Skills:

    • Mastery of Vue3/Nuxt3

    • Expert proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and other relevant frontend technologies such as bootstrap css and tailwind css

    • Strong experience with PHP/Laravel and blade templating

    • Strong experience with design tools such as Figma and Adobe XD

    • Proven track record of successful funnel optimization and A/B testing

  3. Thought Leadership:

    • Demonstrated experience and comfort with leading and mentoring fullstack/frontend development teams.

    • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

  4. User-Centric Focus:

    • Strong understanding of user experience principles and a commitment to delivering user-centric designs.

  5. Analytical Mindset:

    • Ability to analyze data, draw insights, and make informed decisions to drive continuous improvement.

  6. Strong Design sense: know and act on design best practices with respect to UI/UX

Location 

100% remote with occasional travel for in-person team and companywide retreats. 

The starting salary range for this position is $140,000 - $180,000, commensurate with skills and experience.
