We are looking to add a Dispatcher to our Longview Dispatch team!

This position works a 4 on 4 off schedule of 12 hours shift which provides a great work life balance!

Position Summary :

In this position you will be responsible for taking delivery orders via email, phone and computer system and dispatching them in order of priority to ensure timely and safe delivery of product.

You will also review customer inventory and schedule loads based on prioritizing needs and be responsible for clear and effective communication with drivers, customers, and vendors.

You will need to be able to make changes based on needs and communicate those changes to drivers and customers. This position requires being able to troubleshoot issues that arise with deliveries, responding to initial reports of incidents, monitoring pricing at loading points and truck positions in order to make quick decisions to adjust scheduled loads.

You will also be monitoring daily allocations and assisting the fleet with Dispatch software to input loads and successfully complete daily deliveries.

This is a fast-paced position with a lot of moving parts with both internal and external customers that may be in a fast paced / stressful environment themselves which may require patience and latitude .

You must be able to demonstrate the ability to keep your cool in stressful situations and a high attention to details. Responsible to consistently role model our Core Values.

Essential Position Functions and Responsibilities :

  • Excellent communication skills to ensure drivers understand their instructions.
  • Excellent time-management skills and the ability to work in high-pressure situations and fast-paced environments.
  • Superior organizational abilities are required.
  • Maintains contact with drivers throughout the day.
  • Collaborates with management to modify daily routes to accommodate the needs of customers and maintain efficiency.
  • Acts as a communication liaison through direct on-board systems provided in the trucks.
  • Cultivates strong relationships with drivers and customers to reduce the stress that comes with last minute schedule changes.
  • Monitors and troubleshoot any predicted or real-time route changes or road construction issues and work with drivers to establish new routes for timely and efficient deliveries.
  • Enters orders into accounting software.

Minimum Education and Experience :

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • 1 - 3 years of general work experience required

Experience in dispatching or operational logistics preferred
