Overview:
We are seeking a hard-working Assistant Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience working in construction or a lumber yard and have extensive knowledge of all wood frame building processes. Candidate should have excellent customer service skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Duties will include supporting the General Manager to:
- Increase sales and profitability of all products offered by the company
- Interact directly with customers to provide various products from design to completion
- Supervise staff of the yard, including drivers and truss plant employees
- Ensure deliveries are scheduled timely and efficiently with a high level of customer satisfaction
- Manage inventory
- Maintain and implement safe work practices while improving upon efficiencies
- Design trusses via computer, with attention to structural detail and safety
- Other duties as required
Qualifications:
-Bachelor's Degree in Business from a four-year college or university, or equivalent work experience
- 3 years experience working in previous construction or lumber yard with primary supervising and/or management responsibilities
- 3 years working in building industries with extensive knowledge in all wood frame building processes to include understanding blueprints, building codes, sales, estimation, framing practices
- Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community
- Ability to negotiate with internal and external sources
- Knowledge of finance, economics, accounting, personnel
