We are looking for a highly motivated Ordering Supervisor located in Columbus, OH that can operate in a fast-paced and demanding environment of a micro-cap publicly-traded company.
Position Summary
The Ordering Supervisor will oversee the ordering team and manage customer order activity through the order fulfillment cycle.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Create standard operating procedures (SOPs), support documents, and training videos for the ordering team.
  • Assist in the enforcement of company and department policies, including schedule adherence.
  • Create and manage the ordering schedule.
  • Manage timesheets and paid time off (PTO) requests for the ordering team. Provide backup support to department managers on timesheets.
  • Supervise the ordering team to maximize efficiencies and operate within the department's budget.
  • Hire, train, and develop employees by providing clear direction and objectives as well as continued training, feedback, and support.
  • Provide support and oversight to the Ordering Coordinators and direct reports.
  • Establish and maintain a comfortable and efficient work environment.
  • Allocate client assignments and projects to the team to maintain a balanced workload.
  • Meet or exceed client service level agreements (SLAs) and expectations.
  • Review open orders for all clients to ensure that orders are not delayed or placed in the incorrect status.
  • Collaborate with Logistics Manager, department leads, Director of Operations, and other supervisors.
  • Provide insight to department manager, shipping lead, or both on prioritizing orders so that devices are delivered within SLA timeframes.
  • Track Logistics SLAs and ensure that orders are submitted and delivered on time to meet or exceed client SLAs and expectations.
  • Assist in the configuration of Intelligent Technology Management System (ITMS) settings. Includes tasks such as updating device catalogs for clients, configuring automated emails, creating reports within ITMS, adjusting company settings within ITMS when applicable.
  • Assist with implementing carrier integration.
  • Oversee refreshes and special projects to ensure all devices are ordered and adequately tracked to completion.
  • Occasionally work various shifts to provide supervision to staff and support to clients.
  • Assist the implementations team when configuring support for new clients.
  • Represent Ordering in internal and external meetings.
  • Occasional travel as needed to support customers, projects, and WidePoint.
  • Completes other related projects as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
The minimum qualifications include:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Six (6) months or more experience with wireless communications.
  • Customer service and management experience is preferred.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Must work well when managing multiple people, projects, and processes.
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced and, at times, stressful environment.
  • Must be able to pass security clearance.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • Recruits, interviews, hires, and trains new staff.
  • Directs the daily workflow and schedules of the department, coordinating staff involved in ordering.
  • Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.
  • Handles discipline and termination of employees following company policy.
