Responsible for assisting with standard accounting functions including:
- Journal Entries and Reconciliations;
- Assisting other County Departments regarding their accounts;
- Assisting the Manager of Accountants position;
- Assisting External Auditors with the Annual Audit;
- Maintaining Fixed Asset Schedule
- Preparing grant reconciliations and preparing journal entries for individual
grants;
- Reconciling and resolving numerous general ledger accounts monthly;
- Reconciling County Payroll and General Fund Accounts; and
- Assisting with month end and yearly closing process.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting and/or experience in Accounting (preferably governmental and/or public accounting); Good working knowledge of current accounting principles & practices; Grant Accounting Experience; Good verbal and written communication skills; Proficient computer skills and experience with spreadsheets; Ability to work well with a diverse group of people to include state, federal, and local officials, and independent auditors; Ability to handle confidential information; and Ability to pass background check and drug screening. A comparable amount of experience and training may be substituted for the minimum qualifications.
