General Requirements:

• Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of the impact of disability upon an individual’s, as well as families physical, emotional, social, economic and vocational status, taking into consideration age-related issues and developmental levels over the life span and meets competency requirements for the population served as applicable to the job description
• Follows established standards of nursing practice and implements facility policies and procedures
• Interprets existing policies and procedures to nursing assistants, licensed practical nurses, restorative nursing assistants, residents, families and physicians
• Follows, supervises and evaluates the implementation of the Resident’s Rights Program, including privacy, confidentiality and dignity
• Assumes responsibility for compliance with federal, state and local regulations within the assigned unit
• Maintains calm and professional manner
• Consistently works cooperatively with residents, nursing staff, physicians, families, consultant personnel, community agencies, ancillary service providers and administration
• Assumes accountability for data contained in the personnel policy manual
• May be assigned to specific area of nursing home at the direction of management
