We are currently seeking a Traffic Engineer to join our growing Florida Transportation Practice. Our traffic team offers the opportunity to work on exciting projects such as Smart City Signal Systems, Innovative Interchanges, Regional Freight Plans, Managed Lane, and multimodal projects that improve mobility for all transportation modes. Responsibilities:

Our Traffic Department works on exciting projects throughout North America with a concentration on the central and eastern US as well as the Caribbean. Our traffic work is challenging, interesting, and in many cases, on the leading edge of traffic engineering applications in the industry. Our traffic engineers are responsible for the design and management of projects that involve traffic signals, signing, markings, roadway/parking lot lighting, advanced mobility, connected vehicle, work zone traffic control, and ITS devices; conduct traffic safety/operations studies; and develop or apply Synchro, SimTraffic, TransModeler, VISSIM, and VISUM models. Project assignments can range from small-scale intersection improvements to complex interchange and corridor projects, as well as innovative multimodal transportation plans. Additional responsibilities include staff mentoring and development. 

Position may include working at client site(s).

Requirements:

• B.S.C.E degree required
• FDOT Experience
• A minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in traffic engineering
• Experience HCS, Synchro/SimTraffic
• Experience with VISSIM, VISUM, and/or TransModeler is a plus
• Experience in the design of traffic control devices including signals, signing, maintenance of traffic, pavement markings, ITS devices, and lighting
• Familiarity with AASHTO, MUTCD, Highway Capacity Manual and Highway Safety Manual
• Licensed as a Registered Professional Engineer preferred and PTOE a plus 
• Experience working with MicroStation and/or AutoCAD. 
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Exceptional communication, technical writing and organizational skills.
• Positive attitude and willingness to work cooperatively with others.
