Spring Full-Time Tax Internship (In-Office Position)

January 22 - April 15, 2025

Our interns are offered the opportunity to experience the field of public accounting through hands-on work with actual clients. We believe that your time with us in this program is best spent when you not only get to observe our professionals working with client accounts but get to contribute your skills to the process.

Students who join us in this program can expect to:

• Work hands-on with Partners and Tax Accountants to prepare tax returns for individuals and businesses
• Collaborate with staff to complete financial statements, journal entries, account reconciliations, and depreciation schedules
• Apply what you have learned in the classroom to solve real client issues
• Mentoring that will challenge you to build on your personal and professional successes, and ultimately define and reach your goals

Compensation & Resources

Full-time interns with Whitinger & Company will receive competitive hourly compensation. Any overtime worked will be paid at time and one-half rates. Whitinger will provide you with an individual workstation, laptop computer, and all the software and equipment needed to complete your work.

Eligibility

Internships are designed for juniors and seniors majoring in accounting with a grade point average of at least 2.8. At a minimum, all candidates should have completed at least one 300 Level accounting course.

Mentor Program

Before the beginning of an internship with Whitinger & Company, you will be assigned a mentor. This staff member will be a one-on-one resource to answer any questions and orient you to the company and industry so that you can perform with confidence. In many cases, our mentors also serve to help interns transition effectively into full-time employment.

After the Internship

An internship with Whitinger & Company is an opportunity to gain a better understanding of public accounting and to become more familiar with our firm. It also provides you a wonderful chance to make an impression and to give us a better understanding of your career aspirations. In many cases, a successful internship is followed by a job offer as a full-time staff accountant upon graduation.
