Job Description

Design and implement complex digital signal processing algorithms, mainly targeting the Xilinx series of FPGAs. Convert pure software modems (C/C and Python) into FPGA implementations in order to process wireless drone signals in real-time while reducing power consumption and form factor. Use lab equipment to test and verify signal processing algorithms.

Desired Skills and Experience

• Deep physical layer understanding of modern communications protocols (LTE, WiMAX, WiFi, etc.)
• Expertise and knowledge of forward error correction (FEC) schemes, demodulation, modulation, digital filters, and the related
• Experience using git (or other version control software)
• Embedded software development experience (Linux, RTOS, bare metal)
• Familiarity with RF systems

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or similar major or equivalent experience
• 5 years of FPGA design and simulation using Verilog/VHDL, targeting Xilinx FPGA's
• Xilinx design tools (Vivado).
• Implementing FPGA-based digital signal processing (DSP) algorithms. Expertise with FPGA synthesis and timing closure
• Using C/C and a scripting language (Python preferred) for design and testing of DSP algorithms
• Embedded system processors (Zynq, Microblaze, etc.)
• Using lab test equipment (logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, signal generators, spectrum analyzers) for design and testing
• Must be eligible to meet International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) access requirements
