We are looking for an experienced Oil & Gas Automation Engineer to work in the Permian/Delaware Basin of West Texas and Southeast New Mexico.

What you will be Doing:

  • Designing, developing, and implementing automation solutions for upstream oil and gas facilities, with a focus on improving efficiency, reliability, and safety.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including process engineers, instrumentation technicians, and IT professionals, to integrate automation systems seamlessly into existing operations.
  • Programing and configuring SCADA, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), and human-machine interface (HMI) systems to optimize process control.
  • Conducting regular assessments of control systems and instrumentation to identify opportunities for improvement and ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Troubleshooting and resolving issues related to automation systems, ensuring minimal downtime and efficient production.
  • Participating in the planning and execution of control system upgrades and modifications, keeping abreast of the latest technologies and industry best practices.
  • Collaborating with vendors and suppliers to procure automation equipment and components, ensuring quality and adherence to project specifications.
  • Providing technical support and training to operations and maintenance personnel on the proper use and maintenance of automation systems.
  • Staying informed about emerging technologies and trends in automation within the oil and gas industry, making recommendations for the implementation of new technologies that align with company objectives.

Your Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, automation engineering, or a related field.
  • 5 yeas of experience as an Automation Engineer in the upstream oil and gas industry.
  • Strong proficiency in programming DCS, PLCs, and SCADA systems.
  • In-depth knowledge of instrumentation, control valves, and process control principles.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
