You have an excellent opportunity for you to lead our successful social purpose corporation as our Chief Executive Officer. Based in Oregon’s beautiful Willamette Valley, we celebrated our 50th anniversary in 2020, and have operated continuously and safely throughout the pandemic.

Responsibilities

? Manage the organization in accordance with the philosophy, policies, and objectives set by the Board and work collaboratively with the executive team and the Board to carry out the corporate mission.

? Lead the executive team in planning and decision-making processes to manage the corporation, including establishing short and long-term goals, developing a corporate strategic plan, assessing the organizational structure, determining resource requirements, and measuring progress.

? Personifying the leadership principle that we “increases society’s awareness of human potential” through dedicated advocacy and by modelling positive, inclusive communication to make each interaction the best, most inclusive possible.

? Maintain business insight and a strategic mindset: Apply knowledge of businesses and the marketplace to advance organizational goals. Use appropriate resources and community input to see ahead to the future possibilities and translate them into breakthrough strategies.

? Lead the development of the annual corporate budget and related personnel and capital planning. Review the budget for appropriateness and sufficiency and present for Board approval. Working with the executive team, manage fiscal and human resources throughout the year to achieve mission results.

? Drive vision and purpose: Paint a compelling picture of the vision and strategies that motivate others to action. Sets clear direction and objectives that are based on data trends and business outcomes.

? Drive employee engagement and team effectiveness through clear, trustworthy communication. Create and maintain an environment where individuals are empowered, motivated and the importance of collaboration within and across divisions/teams is fully embraced and encouraged.

? Provide visionary leadership principles that value difference and encourage others to deliver their best performance. Build inclusive competencies of leadership, business planning, and customer service.

? Maintain financial stability with managed growth, as indicated by operating results and balance sheet strength regularly reported to the Board of Directors.

? Provide guidance to employees who manage performance or behavioral matters. Ensure all related activities comply with personnel policies and procedures and are completed in coordination with human resources.

? Model adaptability and consistently seek to understand other world views, perspectives, and approaches to work.

? Demonstrate curiosity, diplomacy, and empathy when working across groups. Cultivate and maintain trusting and collaborative relationships across the organization.

? Manage Organization's public image, as perceived by customers, government partners, employees, and the public at large. Resolve complaints, operational problems, and related issues as needed. Ensure that Garten is seen as a credible and authoritative source of information regarding individuals with disabilities.

? Build and maintain positive, professional relationships. Represent Garten in interactions with the media, legislators, and public officials with federal agencies, county, city, and other stakeholder groups.

Qualifications

Experience: Eight years of increasingly responsible business and/or disabilities management experience, that includes five years of upper management experience managing large, critical business functions in a mid-size company, not for profit sector and/or governmental agency

Education: A bachelor’s degree and continuing education as evidenced by advanced training or the attainment of an advanced degree or professional designation.

Working environment: Work is generally performed within an office or home office environment, with office equipment available. The working environment is generally favorable, with no exposure to hazardous conditions caused by noise, dust, or other factors.

Physical Requirements:

? Movement throughout multiple work locations in different buildings.

? May occasionally need to travel to regional offices located in a city or town other than assigned work location, including overnight.

? Stand or sit at a workstation for the majority of the shift.

? May occasionally lift up to 10 pounds.

? Communicate with others, typically through the use of speaking and hearing.

? Use of a computer to enter and screen data.
