The Newton School in Strafford, Vermont and Chelsea Public School in Chelsea, Vermont have a need for a 1.0 music/performing arts teacher. This full time position is shared between the two schools, which are located approximately 10 miles apart. This position will serve our K-8 (Newton), 5th-8th (Chelsea), and Preschool (Chelsea) school community. The ideal candidate is licensed in Drama Education and/or Music Education or Visual and Performing Arts Education. Additionally the right candidate is organized and can balance the needs of two schools. They also possess the ability to work collaboratively, have strong communication skills and understand the individual needs of students. We are looking for a person who is willing to build on student interest and can foster creativity and a passion for the performing arts. Classroom management skills and the ability to clearly communicate with staff, students and parents is essential.
