White River Health is Hiring a Clinical Lead Registered Nurse (RN) - Safety Sensitive Near Batesville, AR

Job SummaryThe Clinical Lead is responsible for overall daily flow of patient care. The Clinical Lead collaborates with the Nursing Clinical Manager to ensure the delivery of high-quality patient and family centered care at the department level. In the absence of the Nursing Clinical Manager, the Clinical Lead supervises the Registered nurse, Licensed Practical Nurse, Patient Care techs, Unit secretaries, and other nursing related positions.

Qualifications

  • Current Registered Nurse in the state of Arkansas and must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing. A bachelor’s degree is preferred and strongly encouraged to allow for succession planning for the unit.
  • Minimum of 2 years experience with the health needs of the population served.
  • Clinical leads will also be required to obtain a National certification in specialty for that unit within 2 years of accepting the position.
  • Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • PALS/PEARS

Essential Functions:

  • Ensures the smooth day to day flow of patients admitted and discharged from the unit.
  • First to assume staffing for a scheduling need.
  • Audits records and collaborates with the Nursing Clinical Manager for implementation and evaluation of quality improvement activities to ensure the ongoing quality of patient care-entering monthly PI into data system.
  • Completes responsibilities in a timely manner through effective organization, setting priorities, delegation, and time management skills.
  • Develops implements and ensures compliance with WRMC’s policies and procedures, regulatory and legal requirements, and current health care standards.
  • Investigates risk management and patient/public relations issues and acts, including reporting as appropriate.
  • Recognize the diverse skill levels of individual staff members and the unique needs of patient populations.
  • Collaborates with Nursing Clinical Manager to maintain departmental staffing plans based on volumes, patient acuity, anticipated workload, and nursing skill mix.
  • Supports shared leadership decision making through all aspects of the day-to-day operations of the unit such as allocation of resources, staffing, space, equipment/supplies, and budgeting process.
  • Collaborates with the Nursing Clinical Manager to monitor, review, justify and implement strategies to improve financial performance of the unit assigned.
  • Assist in state and national survey/certification preparation/assessment process.
  • Updates policies annual and as needed.
  • Participates in interviews and onboard/orientation processes.
  • Maintains crash cart.
  • Represents department by actively participating on WRMC committees, councils, teams, and community activities.
  • Supports Evidenced Based Practices by initiating and facilitating changes to improve patient care through literature reviews, nursing research, journal clubs, and shared leadership.
  • Serves as role model and mentor by consistently demonstrating professionalism.
  • Assumes responsibility for professional development and integration of acquired knowledge and skills into practice.
  • Contributes to nursing management education and professional development of staff, students, and colleagues in an environment of mutual respect and understanding.
  • Decisions and actions are based on ethical principles and foster a non-discriminatory climate in which care is delivered in a manner sensitive to socio-cultural diversity.
  • Utilizes the ANA Scope and Standards of Practice and the Code of Ethics for nurses with Interpretive Statements as the foundation for nursing practice.
  • Interacts and contributes to the professional development of peers, through annual peer review and clinical peer review relating to the clinical outcomes of patients in your assigned areas.
  • Promotes satisfaction of internal and external customers.
  • Evaluate factors related to safety, outcomes effectiveness, cost and social impact when developing and implementing practice innovations.

Essentials:

  1. Must be able to report to work fit for duty and free of any adverse effects of illegal drugs, medical marijuana, prescription medication, and/or alcohol.
  2. Must be able to effectively communicate both orally and in writing with other individuals.
