for the entire White Plains Hospital (WPH) organization.
Essential Functions And Responsibilities Include The Following
  • Understand and adhere to the WPH Performance Standards, Policies and Behaviors.
  • Management of direct reports, oversight of direct reports’ work, and completion of performance reviews for all direct reports.
  • Keeps abreast of all pertinent federal and state regulations, NYS DOH laws, TJC accreditation standards.
  • Ensures that staff are trained on their knowledge of and adherence to compliance policies and procedures specific to their jobs.
  • Is responsible and accountable for the overall operations of the Regulatory Department. Overall operations of the department include development of department goals and objectives that are consistent with the hospital mission, the management of personnel, preparing/monitoring and collaborating on department budget.
  • Attends Management/Leadership meetings as scheduled/required and communicates hospital policies, performance improvement initiatives and all other required information to their staff
  • Attends and co-leads the policy advisory committee (PAC).
  • Responsible for participation in committees, task forces and projects as appropriate such as suicide ligature risk committee, ethics committee and other committees with a regulatory focus.
  • Leads the development of existing and/or new programs including disease specific certification, accreditation surveys and the submission, analysis, and synthesis of data and metrics.
  • Maintains knowledge related to the operations of the department.
  • Works collaboratively with all levels of the hospital interdisciplinary team and promotes the team concept within the department and hospital wide.
  • Demonstrates positive customer service, fosters positive employee relations, and assures that staff adheres to regulatory compliance.
  • Is supportive of hospital initiatives and projects and functions as a positive change agent.
  • Promotes a positive and professional image and is a role model, coach, mentor and resource for staff and peers.
  • Provides education to and acts as a resource to all hospital employees for regulatory activities.
  • Develops and leads regulatory activities.
  • Oversees and participates in patient safety rounds.
  • Oversees the safety rounding software, updates, and reporting processes.
  • Demonstrates appropriate utilization of resources necessary to obtain valid and reliable data entry.
  • Performs all other related duties as assigned.
Education & Experience Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing or related healthcare field required, master’s degree in nursing or healthcare related field required.
  • NYS RN License required.
  • 5 years clinical experience required, with experience in quality improvement, regulatory and leadership/ management experience in the past three years.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite preferred (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Knowledge of Joint Commission/DOH/CMS standards

  • Excellent communication skills are required with all team members including but not limited to, Senior Staff and Administration, Physicians, Nurses, Clinical Staff.
  • Problem-solving skills and attention to detail are required.
  • Must be able to plan ahead and remain organized with multiple tasks due.
Physical/Mental Demands/Requirements & Work Environment
  • May be exposed to chemicals necessary to perform required tasks. Any hazardous chemicals the employee may be exposed to are listed in the hospital’s SDS (Safety Data Sheet) data base and may be accessed through the hospital’s Intranet site (Employee Tools/SDS Access). A copy of the SDS data base can also be found at the hospital switchboard, saved on a disc.
  • Ability to remain in stationary position 90% of the time.
  • Constantly utilizes/operates computer to access information.
  • Able to communicate/ teach physicians and other hospital employees quality issues, best practices, and
