Structural Steel Erection - Estimator
Cherokee Steel Fabricators Inc. is seeking a Structural Steel Erection/Construction Estimator to join our team.
As an Estimator, you will play a crucial role in our construction projects by providing accurate cost estimates and ensuring projects are completed within budget. If you have a strong background in construction estimating and project management, we encourage you to apply. This role includes understanding of steel purchasing, fabrication, and erection operations. Apply all information on drawings to facilitate these operations and know the basics of miscellaneous steel detailing and construction. This is a full-time, direct-hire position.
Duties:
· Analyze blueprints, specifications, and other project documentation to prepare accurate cost estimates for steel erection projects.
· Utilize estimating software and tools to generate comprehensive bids and proposals.
· Collaborate closely with clients to understand project requirements and constraints.
· Communicate effectively with suppliers to negotiate pricing and ensure competitive bids.
· Maintain detailed records of estimates, including material costs, labor expenses, and overhead.
· Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices related to steel erection and construction estimating.
· Contribute to the development of project schedules and timelines by providing timely and accurate estimates.
· Demonstrate strong attention to detail, mathematical proficiency, and problem-solving skills in all aspects of the estimating process.
· Prioritize workload to meet deadlines and deliver exceptional results in a fast-paced environment.
· Prepare comprehensive bid proposals for submission to clients
· Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
· At minimum, 2 years of steel erection/construction estimating
· Proficient in using construction estimating software TEKLA (2 years of experience, preferred)
· General knowledge of steel construction processes and phases
· Strong knowledge of AISC Specifications and building codes
· Proven experience in construction estimating or related role
· Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and regulations
· Proficient in project management principles and practices
· Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
· Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications
· Detail-oriented with the ability to accurately calculate costs and quantities
· Great communication and organization skills

Pay: $61,916.60 - $74,566.23 per year
