White Oak Lancaster is a 132-bed skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility. Our facility currently has a full-time Registered Nurse Staff Development Coordinator position opportunity available. This position is part of the Leadership Team and is responsible for providing training and education for staff, residents, and family members of the facility. This position is 8AM to 5pm Monday – Friday, and alternates RN on call responsibilities with other RNs as assigned.

Essential Functions:
Supervises and participates in orientation for all personnel. Assists Director of Nursing in planning yearly in-service programs for nursing staff and helps in recruitment of new personnel. Schedules and implements mandatory in-services for all departments, acts as liaison to other department heads in developing in-service programs. Develops instructional materials utilizing facility policies and procedures.
Education:
Must be a graduate of a state approved school of nursing, with a current and active RN license in South Carolina.

SUPERVISOR: Administrator and/or DON
WORK AREA: Entire Facility
PURPOSE: To provide appropriate and timely training and education for staff, residents and family members of the facility.
WORKING HOURS: Eight hours per day or as necessary as assigned by Administrator and/or DON.
HIPAA MINIMUM NECESSARY: Responsible to adhere to HIPAA MINIMUM NECESSARY guidelines and safeguard protected health information.
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS: Graduate of approved school of nursing and currently licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of residence (North or South Carolina). Should have at least three years of supervisory or administrative experience. Good physical and mental health verified by an annual physical health screening. Must have knowledge of current changes in the nursing and medical field and be able to interpret how these changes will affect long-term care. Proven leadership abilities. Displays organizational ability and good time management skills. Teaching background is desirable but not mandatory.
