Description

DOCK WORKER

JW Delivery Systems, LLC

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Reports to: Terminal Manager
Department: Warehouse
Employment Status: Full-time Regular
Primary Location: Kyle, TX

Shift: 10 pm to 6 am and 11 pm to 7 am

Primary Job Duties

  1. Load and unload cargo using suitable material handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks, etc.
  2. Install gangway to receive incoming shipments and load outgoing shipments.
  3. Secure shipments inside the trailer according to customer required or company standards.
  4. Utilize handheld devices for barcode scanning.
  5. Inspect all cargo for damages, irregularities, miscounts, etc.
  6. Ensure all customer products are staged or stored according to customer requirements or company standards.
  7. Keep dock areas clean and free of debris and walkways clear of clutter.
  8. Communicate with Dock Supervisors, other Dock Workers, Drivers, and Management, regarding damaged freight, safety concerns, etc.
  9. Participate in all mandatory training and daily dock huddles.

Requirements

Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED required

Work Site Physical Requirements/Conditions

  • Lifting of <50 lbs
  • Carrying, pushing, pulling, stooping, bending and kneeling
  • Intermittent noises from forklifts, tractor trailers, and other employees
  • Some exposure to varying temperatures from open bay doors
