Our Company is growing fast, and we are currently seeking experienced and professional Pipeline/Facility Site Construction Managers to join our team! 

Position Summary

  • Site Construction Managers (SCM) assist our clients in the planning, design and construction of natural gas construction projects. The project SCM provides effective communication, coordination, and leadership with project stakeholders from design through close-out.
  • Provide and assist in project planning, constructability reviews, estimating, project bidding, scope allocation, unit pricing review, change order management, cost controls, scheduling, contractor/ subcontractor management, oversight of inspection team, QA/QC, project safety, project As-Built records, and compliance with company standards, processes and procedures.
  • Manages multiple projects and orchestrates the results to achieve a broad program goal
  • Plans and implements schedules and monitors program from inception through delivery ensuring all deadlines are met
  • Identifies, monitors and reports areas of risk
  • Continuously seeks opportunities to improve cost, performance and schedule
  • Manages to budgets
  • Facilitates communication and coordination among multiple projects
  • Adheres to standard project management methodologies and reporting techniques
  • Responsible for overall field project coordination, supervision, direction and oversight for all quality control aspects of project, contractor and subcontractor performance issues, project as-built documentation and reporting, safety compliance and process inspection from project start-up to project completion to ensure project work is completed in accordance with Company specifications and standards, all applicable codes, federal regulations and any local city, county or state requirements
  • Implement and direct all quality assurance and quality control, provide constructability reviews during design and construction, oversee all contractor and subcontractor performance issues,
  • Recognition of any nonconformance findings, project as-built documentation and reporting, safety compliance and (in cases) process inspection from project start-up to project completion
  • Involvement from the planning and design of new projects up to and including close out in a consistent communication and coordination with the project manager by project basis

Education and Experience:

  • 10-15 years in energy, utility, construction field. Preferably 5-10 years of project management/construction management experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering Management, Engineering Science or a related field (preferred)

Skills, Qualifications & Key Responsibilities:

  • Proficient in Windows, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, PowerPoint and Adobe/Bluebeam
  • Advanced Project Management/Construction Management skills
  • Excellent organization and time-management skills
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills, including a demonstrated ability to speak comfortably in front of groups, ability to articulate, communicate and influence and proven experience with project status updates to all levels of audience, including peers, mid-level managers and executive leadership
  • Ability to accurately interpret contracts and contract documents
  • Extensive natural gas construction process knowledge
  • Strong estimating capability
  • Knowledge of construction methods and local permit practices
  • Ability to multi-task (multiple projects simultaneously)
  • Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Familiar with all phases of natural gas construction (pipeline & facility)
    • Abilities to direct and oversee QA/QC, Safety, ROW/permitting, public outreach, materials, design, contractor management, environmental and inspection services.
    • Individual must be a project liaison and report back to the project manager with updates or changes that will affect project production
    • Abilities to compare deltas between contractor pricing to create cost savings to the project
    • Reviewing company standards and processes to ensure compliance during construction activities
    • Collaborate with team members, including engineering, sourcing, ROW/Permitting, QA/QC, Safety, damage prevention, contractors, vendors and suppliers.
    • Familiarity with codes related to natural gas systems including but not limited to API 1104 and ASME B31.8
    • Familiar with DOT CFR 49 .192
    • Familiar with OSHA Safety Laws and Regulation for General Industry and Construction

Requirements for employment:

  • Personal vehicle in excellent working condition for work related travel. Valid and current Auto Insurance
  • Pre-employment drug testing and quarterly drug testing
  • Fit for duty physical examination demonstrating ability to complete work duties may be required

While performing the duties of this job, the employee continuously moves about the office and the job sites around potential hazards such as equipment, machinery, excavations, hot work, open trenches, energized systems, etc. Employee frequently accesses active construction sites, ascends/descends stairs, maintains coordination, and engages in repetitive motions (kneeling, reaching). Employee routinely performs this work for an average of 8-12 hours per day and occasional extended hours as necessary. Regular, reliable, and timely attendance is expected.

Specific lifting abilities required by this job include: Light work. The employee is continuously moving about the job site or office space. Exerting up to 25 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. If the use of reaching and moving controls exertion of forces greater than that for sedentary work and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated for light work.

Work environment: Routinely perform work indoors in climate-controlled shared work area with moderate noise level and may spend a moderate time outdoors in sometimes inclement weather. Worker may be subject to hazards including a variety of physical conditions such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, working in places of height or close quarters. Willing to travel across the state of Minnesota. Travel will be necessary to conduct the duties of this job and the employee must have proper licensing to operate a motor vehicle.

Job Type: Full-time seasonal construction

Work Schedule: 5-6 days/week, 40-60 hours/week 

Hourly Wage:

  • Based on previous experience, qualifications, training and credentials
  • GSA Mileage reimbursement for work related travel
  • Per diem (when applicable for pre-approved travel)

Certifications: 

  • American Welding Society CWI or National Welding Inspection School CPWI V (Preferred)
  • OSHA 10hr or 30 Hr. (Preferred)
  • Familiar with Operator Qualifications

References:

  • (3) applicable industry references must be provided

Work Location:

  • Based in Denver Metro Area (subjected to change based on project involvement)
  • Possible travel throughout the state of Colorado
