Title: Assistant Camp Director and Director of First Aid

We are preparing for our 2024 Summer Camp! Open Position: We currently have 2 open positions for someone with experience leading children's activities who is at least 21 years old. The hired candidates will begin with training Mid May through mid June, then will work as an Assistant Camp Director June 24-August 23. Continuation of employment after August may be possible based on company and employee needs.

Qualifications: Ideal candidate will have experience working with children including preparing and leading activities, games and crafts and also be able to connect to campers to enrich their experience here. Candidate should be able to learn the names of the children quickly and recognize the parents. Candidate should be able to work well in a team, needs to be able to learn quickly, be outgoing, proactive, enthusiastic, reliable, punctual, dedicated, organized, detail oriented and independent and must enjoy working with children and parents/caregivers. Excellent customer service is critical. Must also be able to multi-task and keep track of many different activities and needs. This position requires a State of Connecticut Camp Director License which the candidate should either already have or should be able to get prior to employment. Director of First Aid position requires various certifications including CPR, First Aid and others. It is preferred that these are already obtained, but if not, we can provide training prior to the first day of camp.
Hours in the spring during training are approximately 8 hours, schedule TBD based on employee and employer availability. Hours in the summer can range from about 18 hours per week to about 24 hours per week. Some weeks may be more due to staffing needs. Hours may vary each day between 7:15am and 5:45pm Monday through Friday. entire Summer Schedule will be set in advance. Salary is hourly and starts at $15.69 per hour during the first 2 months for training. Once camp begins, rate will increase to $18-20 per hour dependent upon experience and performance.
