Wheeling Family is Hiring an In Home Caregiver Near Wheeling, IL
Overview:
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated individual to help us as an In-Home Caregiver. You will provide essential assistance and support to our Autistic young adult in her own home, helping her maintain her independence and quality of life. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a positive impact on her life.
Our daughter is 26. She is verbal but has limited communication
Responsibilities:
- Assist clients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
- Provide medication reminders and assist with medication management
- Prepare meals and assist with feeding if necessary
- Engage in conversation and provide companionship to promote social interaction
- Monitor client's condition and report any changes or concerns to her family
-Assist her with cleaning the kitchen, reading, art, playing games, outdoor activities, etc.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience as a Special Needs Caregiver ** REQUIRED
- Compassionate and patient demeanor
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently
- Reliable transportation to travel to client's homes
- Valid driver's license and auto insurance (if required for transportation)
- Ability to pass a background check
-O/T or Behavior Specialist background a plus
- Calm, Positive, Kind and Self Confident person
- In Home Caregiving or teaching experience a plus
Benefits:
- Very Competitive pay rates ($20 - $25 per hour - based on experience)
- Flexible scheduling option - but prefer Mon/Wed/Fri 10:30 am - 2:30 pm
