WHEDA is seeking a Project Communications Coordinator to join our Marketing Team in our Madison facility

SALARY: Hiring Range for this position is from $47,197 to $57,452 Annually. Offered Salary will be based on qualifications and internal pay equity. WHEDA provides a competitive salary and WHEDA employees participate in the State of Wisconsin benefit package which includes retirement, health insurance and deferred compensation programs.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The position of Communications Coordinator is responsible for helping to implement marketing, public relations, advertising, and promotional campaigns to support awareness, growth, and expansion of WHEDA's products and services. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES: 

  • Writes a variety of public information materials, which may include: news releases, press kits, newsletters, announcements, videos, audio files, digital copy, and/or other written and verbal materials.
  • Write marketing collateral materials and oversees pieces from inception to final production. This includes website verbiage.
  • Monitors news agencies and financing trade associations for reference to the Authority and/or housing-related issues; analyzes data and news stores to determine their effect on the Authority.
  • Participates in the development of campaign strategies for new initiatives and existing products; researches current affordable housing trends and analyzes data; and assists with tracking and reporting the performance of marketing campaigns in print, web and social.
  • Creates, writes and sends WHEDA program newsletters to agency stakeholders.
  • Provides backup for the Marketing Specialist including posting socials, coordinating customer email blasts, writing content for collateral materials and event planning.
  • Performs or assists with other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a closely related field and two years of experience related to the area of assignment; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as listed above
  • Valid Driver’s License Required
  • Must have Podcast and other Multimedia experience

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

  • Working knowledge with AP Stylebook
  • Writing, editing, and scripting documents;
  • Developing and implementing public relations materials;
  • Developing key messages for public consumption;
  • Interpersonal skills as they relate to dealing with media and Authority partners;
  • Identifying, analyzing, and resolving problems;
  • Managing multiple projects simultaneously;
  • Conducting research;
  • Communication, interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with coworkers, supervisor, the general public, etc. to exchange and convey information and to receive work direction
  • Strong adherence to confidentiality in working with clients and vendors

This position has a work schedule that will initially be 100% in-office. After training is complete, it is at the discretion of the direct manager when the employee may begin a hybrid work schedule.
