WGNSTAR is Hiring an Equipment Test Technician - Assembly/Test/Validate (Direct Hire) - IL001 Near Elgin, IL

NO RELOCATION, LOCAL TO ELGIN, IL - NO SPONSORSHIPS AVAILABLE AT THIS TIME.

This is a full-time, direct hire opportunity with our client, hiring immediately!

Position Summary:This is a hands-on position to inspect, assemble and test/validate assemblies, subassemblies, product and/or systems. Additional responsibilities including inventory management, picking materials, and shipping/logistics might be included from time to time.Responsibilities:

  • Assembling mechanical and electrical components to build complex systems according to engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Testing and troubleshooting systems to detect and solve technical problems.
  • Conducting visual inspections of components and completed systems to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Operate, test and maintain robotic equipment.
  • Maintaining accurate records of production data, testing results, and other reports related to the assembly process.
  • Collaborating with other departments such as engineering, quality control, and production to ensure efficient assembly processes.
  • Making recommendations for improvements to the assembly process to increase efficiency and reduce production costs.
  • Following safety procedures and guidelines to ensure a safe work environment.
  • Keeping tools and work areas clean and organized.
Requirements:
  • Associate degree or higher in electronic and/or electromechanical technology.
  • 3-5 years of hands-on electrical and mechanical engineering/equipment work experience at a previous position or equivalent military experience.
  • Demonstrate analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
  • Strong teamwork and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Mechanical aptitude and ability to understand complex diagrams and schematics.
  • Strong hand-eye coordination and proficiency in using tools like soldering equipment.
  • Experience with bench and automated test equipment.
  • Multitasking & prioritizing in a high-pressure environment without a lot of direction or management.
  • Professional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient with MS Office – Word, Excel, & PowerPoint.
Working Conditions:
  • Light industrial plant environment
  • May have to lift 50 lbs.
  • Use of power hand tools
  • Packing/unpacking of systems
  • Forklift operation
  • Loading/unloading systems onto trucks
