WFYI Indianapolis is Hiring a Digital Content Intern, News Near Indianapolis, IN
POSITION PURPOSE
The digital content intern will learn to create, edit, and distribute compelling news content for a variety of digital and broadcast platforms. This position will gain experience in video and audio journalism production, professional editing techniques, and writing for both the big and small screen. As a valued member of our team, the digital content intern will have learning and growth opportunities from each of our content areas, collaborating across departments like radio, television, video, community engagement, and more.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

- Assist with social media news content creation and distribution.
- This could include helping to develop and execute social media campaigns, creating social media posts and graphics, and monitoring and responding to social media comments and messages.
- Conduct research and gather information for digital news content projects.
- This could involve interviewing experts, searching online sources, and attending events.
- Help to manage and maintain WFYI's digital news assets.
- This could include uploading and organizing digital files, creating and updating metadata, and backing up digital content.
- Stay up-to-date on the latest digital media trends and technologies.
- This will help ensure that the digital content intern is able to create and distribute content in the most effective and engaging way possible.
- Generate new ideas for digital content projects.
- This could involve brainstorming new topics, formats, and approaches to digital storytelling.

OTHER FUNCTIONS
- Spend time in other areas/departments to learn how the organization functions.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
To perform this job successfully, an individual must have the following education and/or experience
- Must be enrolled in an accredited college or university or have graduated within the last six months.
- Must be a college junior, senior, or recent graduate majoring in journalism, video production, digital media, audio production, communications, or related field.
- Demonstrated ability to create engaging video or audio content for digital platforms, social media, or broadcast.
- Proficient experience using Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Cloud (Premiere or Audition)
- Professional portfolio or demo reel.
- Experience using Adobe After Effects, Illustrator, and Photoshop.
