Summary As the Director, Operations for World Fuel Services, you will provide direct supervision to Fuel Technicians, Terminal Managers and Class A transport Drivers, operating 24/7. The Director works with commercial sales to provide and supply customers with the equipment and product required. Efficiency is based on safety, direct expense control, DOT compliance, driver productivity and fleet utilization. Relies on extensive experience and judgement to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. Leads and directs the work of others. Availability during emergencies. Key Responsibilities Communication and direction of the driver force with engagement and problem solving. Ensure policies, procedures, processes are trained and followed. Provide safety training, coaching, corrective actions and observations. Works with dispatch to monitor planning board for efficient on-time deliveries. Provide an excellent service experience for customers: investigate and take necessary action to quickly resolve customer service issues. Investigate all accidents, injuries, spills, mixes, security issues, unsafe conditions or other incidents to the HSSE team. Create and maintain a Safety Culture; ensure all transportation operations comply with all facility, company, state and federal rules and DOT regulations. Manages administrative deadlines, i.e. payroll, AP approvals, etc. Attend and run meetings as required. Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements, Competencies and Certifications Effectively uses time; anticipates obstacles, adjusts priorities as needs change and keeps others informed of progress. Great organizational skills with the proven ability to multitask and to “do what it takes” to get the job done. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, including critically evaluating information gathered from multiple sources. Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with all levels in the organization. Knowledge of the oil/fuel industry. Strong working knowledge of Western Washington. Minimum Education & Experience Bachelor’s Degree in operations, logistics, or distribution with a key understanding of DOT requirements or equivalent experience in a related field. 5 years experience. DOT and Hazardous training and experience preferred. HazWoper and Over the Water experience preferred. What You’ll Love About Us Health Benefits.
