Our IT team is spearheading the digital transformation of the timber industry. This includes the implementation of solutions that integrate and normalize data across the entire lifecycle of forest growth, and the analysis of optimal uses for the properties owned and managed by Weyerhaeuser. We're seeking a talented Enterprise Architect with expertise in the forest products industry, enterprise architecture, and geospatial data analytics. This role requires collaboration with stakeholders across the organization to align our strategies and implement related solutions. The ideal candidate is highly motivated, team-oriented, and will serve as a key strategic member of our IT Enterprise Architecture Team. You'll play a pivotal role in our ongoing investment in our business areas while also contributing to the maturation of enterprise architecture practices at Weyerhaeuser. We need a strategic thought leader who can effectively partner with business and IT stakeholders to implement solutions that align with our strategies. This role is part of the centralized IT Enterprise Architecture Team and is aligned with our Timberlands and Corporate Development Organization. These areas are continuously evolving, and we need a strong partner to assist in providing strategic direction for that evolution. The role requires deep domain expertise and the ability to collaborate with a variety of stakeholders to build strong relationships and drive alignment with modern data and technology approaches. Successful candidates will also possess exceptional business acumen, strategic thinking, cross-functional integration knowledge, technical understanding of infrastructure impacts on applications, and strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to influence and collaborate at all levels of the organization.

Responsibilities
  • Leads and facilitates the development of architecture strategies, standards, and principles that the organization will use to drive decision making.
  • Facilitates discussions with stakeholders about the potential of new technologies.
  • Assesses enterprise level drivers to determine corresponding IT change requirements.
  • Leads the analysis of technology within the industry and market trends to determine their potential impact on the enterprise architecture.
  • Oversees and advises on the implementation of solution architectures based on business requirements and IT strategies.
  • Leads and facilitates the creation of governing principles to guide the enterprise architecture teams' decision making.
  • Leads the development of roadmaps of business application portfolios from current to future state.
  • Partners with vendors to document their approach to new solutions, architectural standards, and frameworks.
  • Promotes the enterprise architecture process, outcomes, and results to the organization, including to the IT and business leaders.
  • Collaborates on the evaluation and alternatives analysis of vendors, services, and software solutions.
  • Consults with project teams to fit projects to the enterprise architecture, as well as to identify when it is necessary to modify the enterprise architecture to accommodate project needs.
  • Oversees the documentation of all architecture design and analysis work.
  • Cultivate a collaborative atmosphere, bridging the divide between technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Provide strategic advisory council for project activities with delivery teams to guide integration efforts.
  • Committed to growing functional and technical skills and discovering new ways to deliver business or technical solutions. Willing to mentor others.
Qualifications
  • Experience as an Enterprise Architect in a forest products industry organization or related field.
  • 5 years of architecture experience.
  • 10 years of experience in relevant IT technology.
  • Broad understanding of supply chain, silviculture, and the unique requirements of geospatial data. Data governance principles, data integration strategies, and automation frameworks.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, able to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience with forest product industry solutions like; Trimble, Remsoft, Safe FME, or Esri ArcGIS Pro.
  • Experience delivering solutions that are used by external entities, which could include mobile solutions, and with low-code and no-code platforms.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to understand customer and partner business needs, lead requirement gathering and analysis, and design solutions that drive business outcomes.
  • Ability to educate stakeholders on complex technology subjects.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, able to influence, collaborate and manage group dynamics to drive consensus.
  • Ability to promote a collaborative environment, encouraging input from others and respecting others' opinions.
Preferred, not required:
  • Relevant technology certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect).
  • Experience with data lake software like Snowflake and data governance solutions
  • Forestry Certification (e.g. SAF Certification)
  • Practical experience in Forestry Services
  • Experience with advanced analytics and how these practices are foundational for AI/ML
Education
  • Bachelor's degree in information technology or related experience is required.
What We Offer:
Compensation : This role is eligible for our annual merit-increase program, and we are targeting a salary range of $139,171-$208,756 based on your level of skills, qualifications and experience. You will also be eligible for our Annual Incentive Program, which offers a cash bonus targeting 25% of base pay. Potential plan funding may range from zero to two times that target.

Benefits : When you join our team, you and your dependents will be offered coverage under our comprehensive employee benefits plan, which includes medical, dental, vision, short and long-term disability, and life insurance. We offer a pre-tax Health Savings Account option which includes a company contribution. Other benefit options are also available such as voluntary Long-Term Care and Employee Assistance Programs. Retirement : Employees are able to enroll in our company's 401k plan, which includes a paid company match in addition to our annual contribution equal to 5% of your base salary.

Paid Time Off or Vacation : We provide eligible employees who are scheduled to work 25 hours or more per week with 3-weeks of paid vacation to use during your first year of employment. In addition, after being employed for six months, eligible employees begin to accrue vacation for future use. We also recognize eleven paid holidays per year, providing a total of 88 holiday hours and paid parental leave for all full-time employees.
