Candidates will have the opportunity to be part of a golf operation that is constantly seeking improvements, with various construction projects taking place each year. Assistant Superintendents work closely with the Superintendent to plan, direct and execute all golf course maintenance practices.
The ideal candidate must have a positive attitude, be highly motivated, reliable and eager to learn as well as having a keen eye for detail and a desire to advance in the turf maintenance industry. The selected candidate will also be responsible for the handling, mixing and application of pesticides and fertilizers. Along with detail and accurate recordkeeping and inventory. This is a hands-on position that will provide supervision as well as direct participation in all aspects of daily maintenance.
- 2 or 4 year degree from an accredited university in agronomy and/or soil science
- At least 3 years of golf course maintenance
- Must have a positive attitude with a passion for the industry and a strong desire to become a Golf Course Superintendent.
- Must have knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices and procedures in turf maintenance
- Must be a self-starter who can complete tasks with minimal supervision
- Must maintain high performance standards
