We are looking for a dynamic Dietary Aide/Cook to join our Skilled Nursing Facility or Subacute Care!

• Facility Type: Skilled Nursing Facility and Sub-acute Care
• Location: 1601 Petersen Ave, San Jose, CA 95129, USA
• Position Type: Full-Time with Weekend
• Shift Structure: 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week
• Shift Schedule: Flexibility for AM and PM Shift - 5 AM to 9 PM
• Pay Range: $19 to $21 per hour

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Prepare and cook meals according to recipes and portion sizes
• Ensure food is prepared in a timely manner and meets quality standards
• Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines to maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment
• Collaborate with dietary aides and other kitchen staff to ensure smooth operation of the kitchen
• Assist with meal preparation, including chopping vegetables, marinating meats, and preparing sauces
• Handle food properly to prevent cross-contamination and maintain food quality
• Maintain inventory of food supplies and notify supervisor when supplies are running low

QUALIFICATION:

• Proven experience as a cook in the food industry
• Knowledge of food safety practices and procedures
• Must have a High School Diploma or GED
• Interest in working with the geriatric population
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
• Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members
• Excellent attention to detail to ensure accurate portioning and cooking times
• Ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays

EXPERIENCE:

• With food industry experience as cook are welcome
• With no more than 2 jobs in a year or 12 months is a plus
• Previous experience working in a healthcare or hospitality setting as a cook
• Experienced Dietary Cook
