Westwood Homes, LLC is Hiring a Construction Accountant/Bookkeeper Near Portland, OR

We are a small well established residential construction company in the Portland metro area looking for enthusiastic attitudes and team players to join our building team. We are seeking an experienced accountant to join our team

If you are a reliable, well-organized person with a focus on efficiency and time management, we want to talk to you! Ideal candidate would have some relative industry experience and willing to work in office full time.

Starting at $24 to $28 depending on experience.

Duties and responsibilities include but not limited to the following:

  • Process monthly subcontractor pay applications and ensure timely payment
  • Process invoices and expenses, code per project or account
  • Supervise sub payment to suppliers, secures joining check agreements, ensures sub-suppliers are paid, and secure supplier lien waivers.
  • Monitor master subcontract agreements, certificates of insurance, and W-9s

· Collaborate with project managers and contractors to track project costs and ensure accuracy in billing

  • Liaison for vendors to reconcile any billing discrepancies
  • Year-end reporting as assigned, i.e. 1099
  • Review and analyze actual invoicing for accuracy on job costs
  • Maintains associated excel spreadsheets for analysis
  • Assists with project financial questions

· Reconcile bank statements and ensure all transactions are properly recorded.

· Work with CPA to prepare year-end tax prep questions

  • Performs project end close and records reconciling entries
  • Work with project management team staff ensuring proper compliance of accounting procedures, including reviewing and analyzing job cost estimates and budget adjustments
  • Prepare reports as requested utilizing manual methods and/or computer software

· Electronic and paper filing of accounting information

  • Other duties as assigned

Essential Abilities and Traits:

  • 2- year or 4-year college degree, preferred, but not required, preferably in a construction accounting field
  • Ability to apply basic analytical skills
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks Online
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail required
  • The ability to perform a variety of tasks simultaneously and in an accurate and timely manner
  • Considerable skills in problem-solving, conflict resolution, and managing confidential information/situations
  • Strong customer service skills needed to build and maintain relationships with clients, subcontractors, and vendors
