Westtown School is Hiring a Dining Services Staff Near West Chester, PA

Part-time Dining Services Staff

Westtown School seeks an energetic and customer-oriented person to assist with general food preparation, dining room service, general cleaning, and other support of the Dining Services Department. This part-time, year-round position is 20 hours per week with some evening and weekend work required.

Westtown School is an independent, Quaker co-educational, pre-K to 12, college preparatory day and boarding school located in suburban West Chester, PA, approximately 30 miles from Philadelphia. On a beautiful 600-acre campus, Westtown offers facilities where our committed faculty and staff inspire and prepare our students to be stewards and leaders of a better world.

Essential Responsibilities

Provides friendly, efficient, and helpful service;
Assists with meal setup, service, and collaborating with the student work program;
Assists with some daily food set-up according to the Assistant Kitchen Manager’s specifications;
Performs food replenishment and displays food items;
Follows wrap, label, and date procedures for all food items;
Maintains a clean and orderly work area and completes daily and weekly cleaning as assigned by the Assistant Kitchen Manager;
Ensures that proper food handling practices are followed;
Notifies managers of all maintenance and safety issues;
Maintains knowledge of school property and staff as necessary to perform assigned duties;
Reports all accidents to the Kitchen Manager immediately;
Works efficiently and collaboratively with other team members;
Participates in departmental meetings and all necessary training;
Other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

High School diploma required
Some prior food service experience is preferred
Experience in a customer service position is highly desirable
A team-oriented spirit and the desire to work in a collaborative environment
Able to lift, carry, or otherwise move up to 25 lbs regularly using proper moving and lifting procedures
Able to stand, walk, sit, and climb
Able to push and pull heavy loads
Able to read, write, and follow oral and written instructions.
