WestStar Property Management, Inc. is Hiring a Maintenance Supervisor Near Gardena, CA

At WestStar, the Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for the upkeep of properties through the repair, maintenance, and rehab of units, buildings, grounds, and support equipment. The Maintenance Supervisor ensures the safety and health standards of the property are being met, resulting in a safe and secure environment for residents, guests, and associates.

ABOUT THE COMPANY

WestStar Property Management was established in December 2013. At that time, we managed about 400 units from two property owners. Since then, we have more than quadrupled in size. Currently, we manage over 2,400 units in over 240 buildings throughout the Los Angeles area.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Build a great team of maintenance technicians to service the WestStar portfolio.
  • Coordinate and inspect the work performed by maintenance staff and outside vendors;
  • Monitor repair, maintenance, and rehab processes start to finish, ensuring on-time completion and payment to vendor(s);
  • Diagnose and facilitate repair electrical, plumbing, major appliances, carpentry, flooring, HVAC, hardware accessories, drywall, masonry, painting, and emergency systems;
  • Acquire equipment and materials for projects;
  • Assign and oversee service requests and repairs consistent with company operating and equipment/supply standards in a safe and timely manner;
  • Perform turn-key work as required to ensure vacancies are rent ready in a timely manner;
  • Respond to service requests and communicate with management to minimize/resolve problems and complaints;
  • Respond quickly to emergency situations, summoning additional assistance as needed;
  • Comply with all applicable codes, regulations, governmental agency, and company directives related to building operations and work safety;
  • Maintain project schedules;
  • Determine that work is complete, and building systems are in prime working condition;
  • Provide informal assistance such as technical guidance, and/or training to coworkers;
  • Evaluate construction methods and determine cost effectiveness;
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

COMPENSATION

  • Salary based on experience;
  • Travel reimbursement;

REQUIREMENTS

  • General Contractor’s License is a plus;
  • In-office availability;
  • Physical requirements (if necessary): stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs and ladders, and ability to lift/carry loads of 50 lbs. or more;
  • Tools and equipment;
  • Personal vehicle;
  • Basic level math skills;
  • Speak English and Spanish;
  • 5 years of experience;
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills.

PREFERRED (NOT REQUIRED)

  • Personal vehicle capable of transporting construction materials to job site;
  • Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) from four-year college or university;
  • Microsoft Outlook

  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence;
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from clients, co-workers, and/or supervisors;
  • Ability to effectively present information to an internal department and/or large group of employees
