Position Summary:

The Shift Supervisor supervises and manages the safety and performance of a shift operating team. Responsible for all activities from receiving raw materials, production, power, shipping, maintenance, quality and environmental. This is a rotating shift position.

Essential Job Functions:

• Administers and models safety in his/her area of responsibility; Participates in and enforces the safety program for the shift employees; reviews safety records to uphold standards of maximum safety for all shift employees. Ensures compliance with all applicable OSHA and plant safety standards. 
• Troubleshoots operations and quality issues.
• Coordinates maintenance activities.
• Utilizes and maintains JDE system for work order entry.
• Must be able to build a team that can effectively work the shift; monitor employee performance; train employees; and issue discipline as required.
• Maintain effective communication both on assigned shift and across shifts with other supervisors in both production, shipping, and maintenance.
• Creates employee schedules and monitors time through the Kronos timekeeping system.
• Maintains and consistently applies a thorough working knowledge of the Collective Bargaining Agreement. 
• Maintains compliance with all environmental policies and procedures; ensures that all city, county, state, and federal regulations relating to the maintenance crews are met at all times.
