The opportunity:

·Promote and operate a safe working environment for yourself and all employees on shift.

·Supervise production in accordance with plant policies and procedures.

·Train and coach production employees.

·Responsible for shift schedule including work station assignments/rotations, employee training, employee breaks and back-up for absent employees.

·Coordinate production startups, shutdowns, and changeovers.

·Schedule and conduct shift meetings.

·Responsible to meet shift production goals.

·Responsible for quality control. Make adjustments as necessary during shift to produce product within specifications. Reject product outside of specifications.

·Communicate with other Shift Supervisors and Plant Manager.

·Communicate with all Department Managers.

·Ensure a clean and safe work area.

·Complete shift paper work.

·Assist in production as necessary.

This position will work night shift following our rotation. It is a 2-2-3 rotation giving you every other weekend off. It does not switch from day shift to night shift, and you will have your schedule for the entire year. 

How you will impact WestRock:

The right candidate will have a sense of urgency and strong communication skills. Being able to manage our production schedule, react to last minute changes, and prioritize items needed for release will be a major part of this role. This role will work closely with Department Managers; driving engagement and projects, as well as assisting the Shift Leads on their team. Being able to manage employee development, issues, concerns, and communication is an important skill the qualified candidate needs.

What you need to succeed:

·2-5 years’ experience in folding carton or similar light manufacturing experience required/leadership in the military can be exchanged for manufacturing experience.

·Knowledge of fundamental safety policies and procedures.

·Experience with computers is required. Must be competent in MS Office and capable of learning other applications.

·Associates or Bachelor’s Degree preferred, but not required.

·Ability to lead in an engaged environment.
