Westosha Central High School is Hiring a Special Education Aide (Full-Time) Near Salem, WI

Westosha Central is seeking multiple full-time special education teaching aides for the 2024-25 school year and beyond; the person will support students with varying special education needs for Westosha Central High School. The teaching aide(s) will work in a variety of settings and support a variety of students.

Position #1

The majority of the students are in general education settings. The special education aide will provide support to the students so they can access their education. The teaching aide will follow the guidance of the teacher in the classroom and the special education teacher.

Position #2

The teaching aide will work in a variety of settings and support students that have a higher level of need. The special education aide will provide some 1:1 support and some small group support to students. They will be supporting students that are non-verbal and some students that use communication devices to verbalize their wants and needs. The teaching aide will follow the guidance of the teacher in the classroom and the special education teacher.

Duties:

  • Providing academic, behavioral, and social-emotional support to students that require special education support
  • Supporting the teacher
  • Other Aide duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Special Education Program Aide (883); preference given to applicants who have experience working with students as well as those who have been trained to work with students with disabilities.

Work Hours:

7:15am-3:00pm on days that school is in session

Hourly Wage will be based on experience; the selected candidate will also be offered a competitive insurance benefit package.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $17.50 per hour
