Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Caseworker II to join our team. As a Caseworker II, you will be responsible for providing support and assistance to children and families in need. Your role will involve conducting assessments, developing care plans, and coordinating services to ensure the well-being and safety of children.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of children and families to determine their needs and develop appropriate care plans
- Provide crisis intervention and support to families in difficult situations
- Collaborate with community resources and service providers to coordinate necessary services for children and families
- Monitor the progress of children and families, ensuring that services are being implemented effectively
- Utilize motivational interviewing techniques to engage clients in the change process
- Provide counseling and guidance to individuals and families, addressing behavioral health concerns
- Conduct home visits to assess living conditions and ensure the safety of children
- Document all interactions, assessments, and interventions accurately and timely
- Collaborate with other professionals involved in the case, such as teachers, healthcare providers, and legal representatives
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in social work or a related field
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working in child welfare or related field
- Knowledge of child protective services policies and procedures
- Familiarity with crisis management techniques
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to effectively manage conflicts and diffuse tense situations
- Experience working with diverse populations and understanding cultural differences
- Proficient in using computer systems for documentation purposes
Preferred Skills:
- Experience working with children who have experienced trauma or abuse
- Knowledge of behavioral health interventions for children
